When you submit a question or comment to RFA using the contact form on either (1) our contact web page or (2) our mobile app, we require that you provide certain information necessary for us to respond.  We use the contact form information for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.  We will not share the information you supply on the contact form with another party without your express permission and, in that event, for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.  (For example, if you need help with a technology issue related to the RFA listening experience, it may be helpful to share relevant technical information you supply with a third party to resolve your issue.)

Music Submission

Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you use the contact form (or any other means of providing information) for the purpose of submitting your music for airplay consideration, you agree that RFA may play your music on our broadcast subject to all regulations governing music licensing.  You further agree that RFA may publish information about your music for the purpose of informing and providing access for the legal purchase of your music by our audience.

Fractured Atlas Fundraising

Radio Free Americana is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization.  Contributions for the charitable purposes of Radio Free Americana must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.  Accordingly, systems and processes managed by Fractured Atlas are used for fundraising purposes.  If you make a charitable contribution using these systems and processes, you may be required to provide certain personal information to Fractured Atlas necessary to make payment, comply with regulatory and tax requirements, and receive your donor reward.  To the extent that RFA has access to any of this information, we will only use it for the intended purpose and will not share it with any third party for any reason; provided, however, that we may publicly acknowledge you as a supporter using only your first name (or company name) and city/state.  (Please advise if you prefer not to be publicly acknowledged.)  View Fractured Atlas’ privacy policy HERE.

Listening

When you listen to RFA, you are connecting to one of our stream servers.  As part of this connection, our server is able to identify your IP address.  However, we are not able to know (nor do we want to know) the names of any persons or physical addresses associated with IP addresses.  (Notes:  If you have a dynamic IP address, like most home users, your IP address changes periodically.  Further, virtually any connection that you make on the internet, to any website or server, involves making your IP address known.)

Mobile App

Our mobile app developer, autopo.st, provides RFA the capability to send messages for receipt by everyone with the app installed.  (RFA has no knowledge of who has installed the app, nor do we collect any information about who has installed the app.)  This messaging capability will be used sparingly, for the purpose of notifying users of updates that may be available for the app or related technical issues.
